2011 in Canberra

Our annual conference ALS 2011 will be held at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra on 2-4 December 2011. 2nd December will be a common day with the conference of the Applied Linguistics Association of Australia (ALAA), with a focus on Language and the Law. Also, two week-long masterclasses will be offered on 5-9 December 2011 (one running in the mornings, one in the afternoons), featuring Joan Bresnan (Stanford), on Stochastic syntax, and Fiona Jordan (MPI Nijmegen), on Phylogenetic approaches to language and culture. Previous ALS conferences and meetings

The following list gives the dates and locations of the annual meetings of the Linguistic Society of Australia (founded 1967), which became the Australian Linguistic Society in 1978. The information on past ALS meetings and conferences was originally compiled by David Nash, with help from a number of other Australian linguists.
