7pm Thursday 11 December
We’re going for something slightly different for this year’s ALS conference function. We’re not having a restaurant do. Rather, we’re having a catered function in the foyer area of the Conservatorium of Music. There is plenty of room to move about, including a balcony area, and quite a few tables and chairs for those who prefer to sit. We’ll have waiters moving about, bringing food to wherever you are, and there’ll be a bar open for drinks at very reasonable prices.
The function follows immediately after the ALS AGM. It’s an easy walk from the conference venue, where the AGM will be held, to the Conservatorium.

The University is proud of its connection with the Conservatorium of Music (part of the School of Creative Arts). Its premier Concert Hall is a much-loved performance venue for local, interstate and international artists.
The building housing the Performance Hall was built in 1988 as part of the bicentennial celebrations in Sydney and NSW. The bell tower like structure was intended to reflect the architecture of the older Conservatorium site which had originally been a Salvation Army citadel built in the 1920s. This older building is still used for practice and tutorial rooms. The Performance Hall is world renowned for its excellently engineered acoustics with its high, long and narrow double shoe box structure.
